Turkey announced its readiness to share its experiences and contribute with countries in the region regarding the peaceful resolution of disputes, expressing its concern about the recent escalation between Iran and Pakistan.
The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Thursday: “We are concerned about the developments that began with Iranian attacks against certain targets in Iraq, then expanded with Iranian attacks on some targets inside Pakistan yesterday morning, and escalated with Pakistan’s attacks on targets inside Iran this morning today.” January 18.”
The statement added: “We believe that problems should be resolved through the concept of friendship and brotherhood, on the basis of mutual respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of countries, within the framework of the basic principles of international law, especially the Charter of the United Nations.”
He continued: “We hope that all issues will be resolved through dialogue and cooperation, without further threatening regional security and stability,” noting that Turkey calls on “Iran, Iraq and Pakistan to ensure peace through moderation and rationality.”
On Thursday, the Pakistani army carried out a military operation targeting the “Sarmachar” group in the Iranian province of Sistan and Baluchestan, after an Iranian strike yesterday, Wednesday, targeting the “Army of Justice” in Pakistan.
Tensions escalated between the two countries with Pakistan summoning the Iranian Charge d’Affairs in Islamabad, and Iran summoning the Pakistani Charge d’Affairs to Tehran.
Tehran and Islamabad exchange accusations of allowing armed elements operating from each other’s territory to launch attacks on the other side.
