
Officials said on Monday that Turkish police have detained several journalists and more than 1,100 citizens who protested against the arrest of Istanbul mayor Ekrem Imamoglu, President Erdogan’s main political rival. The arrest has drawn international condemnation and protests have spread to more than 55 of Turkey’s 81 provinces.
