The spokesman for the Court of First Instance in Bizerte, northern Tunisia, confirmed that the investigating judge issued a prison ticket against a former Minister of Industry in a corruption case at the steel factory in Menzel Bourguiba in Bizerte.

It is noteworthy that the Public Prosecution at the Court of First Instance in Bizerte opened an investigation in November 2023 into the presence of suspicion of financial and administrative corruption committed at the steel factory in Menzel Bourguiba, which caused harm to the public institution.
On February 8, the Public Prosecution authorized the Central Division of the National Guard in Aouina to retain a former Minister of Industry, in order to “exploit a public employee in his capacity to extract benefit or harm the administration and to continue the investigation with him and with everyone whom the investigation will uncover.”
