Former US President Donald Trump welcomed the rejection of the immigration bill, saying that if he is re-elected as president, he will lead a massive “deportation operation” from his first day in office.

Under pressure from Trump, Republican lawmakers appear to have decided to block any immigration policy reform before the presidential election.
The former president built his popularity during his first successful campaign by promising to build a wall between the United States and Mexico, and said that deporting immigrants would be one of his priorities.
He added, “From day one, I will end all of the Biden administration’s open border policies and we will launch the largest national deportation operation in the history of the United States. We have no choice.”
