The Ministry of Transport announced today, Tuesday, the preparation of 13 trains and the equipping of Baghdad and Najaf airports to receive visitors on the occasion of Ashura.
A statement by the Ministry quoted the Director General of Railways, Younis Al-Kaabi – received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) – as saying, “13 trains have been prepared to transport visitors from the axes of Basra and Baghdad to the holy Karbala and vice versa during the visit commemorating the tenth of Muharram (Ashura) and 23 trains for the Arbaeen visit.”
The statement also quoted the Director of the Airports and Air Navigation Department, Abbas Al-Baydani – received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) – “We have completed the preparation of passenger lounges, ground operations and flight operations at Najaf and Baghdad International Airports, in preparation for receiving visitors to Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), and we have also provided buses to transport visitors from Najaf Airport to the city center and vice versa.”
