A statement by the Ministry of Agriculture, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that “The Minister of Agriculture, Abbas Jabr Al-Maliki, arrived at Beirut Airport, at the head of a delegation of senior officials in the ministry, in response to the invitation of the Minister of Agriculture in the Lebanese caretaker government, Abbas Al-Haj Hassan, who received him.” at the Air port”.
The statement added, “The Iraqi minister’s visit will include the signing of a memorandum between Lebanon and Iraq at the government palace, in the presence of Prime Minister Najib Mikati, and then the delegation will move to the headquarters of the Second Presidency to meet with President Nabih Berri, followed by a meeting for the delegation in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Beirut.” The Iraqi and Lebanese ministers will hold a press conference after signing the memorandum of understanding between the two sides.
The Lebanese Minister of Agriculture indicated, “The Iraqi Minister and his accompanying delegation will visit southern Lebanon on Friday. The visit will begin in Nabatieh Governorate, where he will see the banana and avocado workshops in the south. On Saturday, he will visit the Baalbek region, accompanied by a delegation from the Lebanese Ministry of Agriculture.”
