At 2:30 pm today, Monday, our national football team will meet its Jordanian counterpart in the elimination match of the quarter-finals of the 2023 Asian Cup at the Khalifa International Stadium.
The Mesopotamian Lions are looking forward to continuing the strong performances after topping Group D with 9 points from three consecutive victories at the expense of Indonesia, Japan and Vietnam.
Our national team players held their last training session at Al Gharafa Training Stadium, with the participation of all players except for substitute goalkeeper Fahd Talib, who suffered an injury in the previous training session, and his absence from the roster for today’s match was officially confirmed.
Our players must give their best in order to continue moving forward in the tournament and approach the final match.
Our team will wear the full white kit, with the goalkeeper in yellow, while Al-Nashama will wear the full red kit, with its goalkeepers in black.
The match will be led by Iranian referee Ali Reza Faghhani and his assistant crew, consisting of referee Anton Schetin, Ashley Beacham, fourth referee Abdul Rahman Al-Jassem, “mouse” referee Khamis Al-Marri, and his assistant Salman Falahi.
