Baghdad/Nina/ Today’s Thursday newspapers paid attention to commemorating the martyrdom of the Victory leaders… and with Sudanese directives to complete the project of 1,000 model school buildings during the current year.
The semi-official newspaper Al-Sabah, affiliated with the Iraqi Media Network, said that Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani, yesterday, Wednesday, directed the completion of the 1,000 model school buildings project during the current year, stressing that bridging the deficit in the number of school buildings is a goal that the government has placed at the forefront of the service necessities of its program.
The newspaper quoted a statement from his office, saying that “the Prime Minister chaired a meeting of the Supreme Committee for Building Model Schools, and during the meeting he was briefed on a comprehensive presentation of the stages of completion of the project, and the most prominent obstacles and challenges facing its completion,” indicating that “during the meeting, the rates of completion and progress were reviewed.” In various aspects of the project, and according to the governorates in which work is underway.
The newspaper stressed that Al-Sudani stressed, according to the statement, “the importance of accelerating the pace of work and overcoming technical and administrative obstacles,” stressing that “the project, which includes 1,000 model school buildings, must be completed during the current year 2024 without delay, directing” the competent authorities to follow up on the achievement and complete all belongings according to the specified time frame,” stressing “the necessity of furnishing these school buildings and providing them with other supplies by relying on local production, whether from the public or private sector.”
On another topic, Al-Zaman newspaper (Iraq edition) said that large crowds from all sectors of society, led by the Popular Mobilization Forces factions, participated in commemorating the fourth anniversary of the assassination of Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis and his companions, in the Wadi al-Salam cemetery in Najaf Governorate, and those present expressed their state of sadness on this anniversary.
The newspaper added that crowds of mourners from all governorates flocked to Al-Muhandis Kindergarten. The head of the Popular Mobilization Forces, Faleh Al-Fayyad, confirmed that “the engineer is an unrepeatable model of loyalty and courage,” and pledged to the supreme religious authority that the Mobilization Forces would remain faithful.
The newspaper quoted Al-Fayad in his speech at the opening of the Victory Leaders Monument in Baghdad, saying that “the burning of the assassination of Al-Muhandis and Soleimani is still in the hearts of the mujahideen,” indicating that “the leaders of victory gained immortality through martyrdom,” adding, “the leaders of victory were a source of courage, altruism, and valor.” Pointing out that (the martyr engineer devoted his entire existence to jihad from his youth to the end of his life), and continued that (the martyr has a burning in our hearts that will never be extinguished, and he was present around the clock and did not visit his family for several months.
On a second topic, Al-Zawraa newspaper, affiliated with the Journalists Syndicate, said that the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate expressed its thanks and appreciation to Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani for his support and care for the journalistic family.
The newspaper quoted the union in a statement as saying that it expresses its thanks and appreciation to Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani and members of the Council of Ministers for their approval to allocate an amount of (5) five billion dinars to cover the treatment of elderly, sick, and pioneer Iraqi journalists, and to support their social solidarity and the solidarity and treatment of the families of martyrs of the press.
The newspaper explained that the union appreciated this humanitarian decision by the Prime Minister and members of the Council of Ministers and their keenness to support journalists and follow up on their humanitarian cases and in appreciation of their efforts and their distinguished role in contributing to building the state and conveying the bright picture of Iraq and the development and progress taking place in it on the ground and in all fields before general opinion.
The newspaper focused on the statement saying that journalists and those with honorable pens and free speech affirmed that they will continue giving and creativity with the same determination in order to raise the status of Iraq, serve its dear people, and support the government’s distinguished efforts in the field of services and the extensive reconstruction campaign that Iraq is currently witnessing.
The Council of Ministers decided, in last Tuesday’s session, to allocate 5 billion dinars to the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate./End
