A video recently went viral showing 29-year-old Palestinian man Badr Dahlan released after spending 30 days in an Israeli prison. Visibly distressed and traumatised in the video, he spoke of harsh conditions in detention and of being beaten by Israeli forces. Misleading photomontages quickly circulated online claiming to show his “before and after” images. But the “before” image is of a different Palestinian man entirely.
