The official spokesman for the Commission, Jumana Al-Ghalai, stated in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency: Nina / Today, Saturday, “the number of appeals received by the Commission on Friday, which is the first day of the deadline for submitting appeals, reached 14 appeals, and the Commission is still receiving appeals in the Department of Political Parties and Organizations Affairs within the capital, Baghdad, or in the electoral offices of the Commission within the governorates for a period of three days.” “.
She explained, “There are no red or green appeals, similar to the complaints that are within the Commission’s procedures, so all appeals are one with no classifications.”
She added, “According to Commission Law No. 31 of 2019, the Commission receives appeals through the Party Affairs Department or its offices in the governorates, as the deadline for receiving appeals ends at the end of official working hours tomorrow, Sunday. After that, the Commission will begin preparing a response list of all appeals within seven days and submit it to the judicial body.” “which reviews this response list and decides on all appeals within a period of ten days,” indicating that “the decisions of the judicial body are not subject to appeal.”/End 5
