A security source reported that 8 people from both sides of a fight were arrested in Sadr City, east of the capital, Baghdad.
The source told Al-Rasheed, “A plaintiff with a personal right came to the police station with his juvenile son, in order to file a report against a person due to a fight in Sector 21.”
He added, “The complainant was sent to Imam Ali Hospital (PBUH) for treatment, and after an hour, the brother of the accused arrived to hand over the accused to the center due to the assault he had committed against the juvenile.”
He pointed out that, “When the police officer was informed of the details in order to bring the accused into custody, the complainant returned with his juvenile son again and other people to the center after completing the hospital procedures. When the complainant was seen with his brother near the center’s system gate, a verbal altercation and a fight broke out between them, which forced the members of the system gate and the center’s force to intervene in order to break up the fight, so the complainant and those with him assaulted the members.”
He added, “Immediately, all eight people from both sides were arrested and detained for the purpose of taking legal action against them.”
