US Department of Defense spokesman Pat Ryder announced on Friday that his country is preparing to deploy forces for the temporary Gaza port mission in the Mediterranean Sea, to increase the flow of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian Strip.
Ryder stressed during a press conference at the Pentagon headquarters, “The mission of the Gaza port includes the presence of American military personnel on board military ships off the coast of Gaza, and not on the beach.”
He pointed out that “America expects more than 1,000 American soldiers to participate in building the temporary Gaza port.”
He continued: “He keeps [البنتاغون] “With the ability to provide unique capabilities from abroad without a US military presence inside Gaza, the concept being planned includes the presence of US military personnel on military ships offshore, but does not require US military personnel landing on shore.”
