Baghdad/Nina/ The temporary charge d’affaires of the Iraqi embassy in Libya, Ahmed Al-Sahhaf, announced today, Tuesday, that the Speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives, Aguila Saleh, expressed his desire to visit Baghdad.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement: “The temporary Chargé d’Affaires of the Iraqi Embassy in Libya, Ahmed Al-Sahhaf, met today, Tuesday, with the Speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives, Aguila Saleh, in the Council building.”
She added: “During the meeting, Iraqi-Libyan relations were discussed, and ways to strengthen them in a way that serves the interests of the two brotherly peoples. The two sides also reviewed the overall situation and challenges facing the region.”
Al-Sahhaf stressed – according to the statement – the importance of work and coordination between the parliaments of the two countries, strengthening relations, exchanging visits between officials of the two countries, continuing support, and enhancing cooperation in all fields./End 8
