Dubai/ Nina/ The Red Sea Film Festival Foundation revealed its pioneering partnership with the Diriyah Biennale Foundation to launch the “Cinema Nights” series of screenings within the activities of the Diriyah Biennale for Contemporary Art 2024, in the Jax Cultural District in Diriyah.
The partnership aims to enrich the cinematic and cultural scene in the Kingdom, and provide a platform for dialogue through a series of exclusive screenings of local and international cinematic works, and dialogue sessions with filmmakers, to provide an opportunity for art and culture lovers to delve into captivating narratives and explore unique cinematic horizons.
The “Cinema Nights” program presents a selection of exclusive cinematic screenings, most notably the Saudi film “Hajan” by director Abu Bakr Shawqi, and the upcoming Saudi film “Noura” by Saudi director and writer Tawfiq Al-Zaidi, in addition to a series of international cinematic screenings, the most prominent of which is the Japanese film “The Evil One.” It does not exist,” and the film “Beyond the Mountain” by Tunisian director Mohamed Ben Attia, and a number of international and local short films.
For his part, the CEO of the Red Sea Film Foundation, Mohammed Al-Turki, stressed the Foundation’s keenness to enrich the cultural and cinematic scene in the Kingdom, and its continuous endeavor to enhance ways of cooperation with cultural institutions that share the same goals, pointing out that cinema nights are not only a cinematic event, but rather a cultural platform that celebrates… Through storytelling and creativity, it strengthens the bonds of cultural exchange between peoples.
For her part, the CEO of the Diriyah Biennale Foundation, Aya Al-Bakri, explained the Foundation’s appreciation for the great role that comic films play in presenting unique stories that enrich our daily lives and open the doors of dialogue between different cultures and generations, noting that the “After the Rain” cycle aims to be a cultural experience that invites For contemplation and contemplation, and it addresses the senses of visitors of all cultures and ages.
The program presents a selection of 10 feature films every Thursday, starting from March 7 until June 23, 2024. Local and international short films will also be shown at the Diriyah Biennial Foundation Center in Diriyah, offering visitors an immersive cinematic experience according to the latest audio and video technologies, with Providing Arabic and English translation for all films scheduled to be shown.
