A statement issued by the Presidency of the Republic, received by the Iraqi News Agency, said: “During the two meetings, President Rashid listened to the wise directives of the two leaders, as they stressed the necessity of consolidating the values and spirit of citizenship that were damaged by the systematic policies of the previous regime, stressing that the interests of Iraq and its people are the first priority.” .
The statement added, “The two authorities also stressed the need to raise the level of services provided to citizens, as they have not risen to the hoped-for level, and the necessity of working to establish security and address the security breaches that have increased recently and thus threaten societal security,” according to the text of the statement.
He continued, “The President of the Republic, for his part, emphasized the role of the rational authority in Najaf Al-Ashraf in preserving the unity of Iraq and the Iraqis,” noting, “The fatwa of sufficient jihad was a departure of faith for the Iraqis to confront ISIS gangs, expel them from Iraqi lands, achieve victory, and consolidate security and stability in the country.” “
President Rashid – according to the statement – touched on the role of the Presidency of the Republic in protecting the Constitution, and working with the executive and legislative authorities to achieve integration in institutional work and establish security and stability, which is the basis for construction, reconstruction and investment. He also indicated that the Presidency of the Republic is keen to follow up and submit draft laws that affect the life and security of the citizen. In addition to its diligent follow-up of many files, including the release of convicts whose sentences have expired, as well as the daily follow-up of citizens’ cases.”
