The Prime Minister’s Media Office stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani met this evening, Saturday, with a group of clerics, tribal sheikhs and notables, hosted by the leader of the Sheikh sect, Mr. Abdul-Al al-Moussawi, in Basra Governorate.” “
Al-Sudani expressed, in his speech to the present gathering, his appreciation for the spirit of brotherhood and unity that brings together the people of Basra from all authentic Iraqi sects, describing this diversity as a factor of unity and strength, and confirms the cohesion of our Iraqi society in all governorates, citing the historical stance taken by all Iraqis in the face of the threat ISIS terrorist organization, and they were able to defeat it.
Al-Sudani pointed out, “These visits come to identify all the needs of the people of the governorate, and to follow up on the implementation of the government program, as the prosperity of Basra, with its specificity, is a gateway to the prosperity of all parts of Iraq.”
