Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani stressed today, Monday, the importance of continuing international efforts to stop the aggression against Gaza.
The Prime Minister’s Media Office stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani received the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Iraq, Alebross Kutrashev.”
He explained, “The meeting touched on developments in recent events and the efforts made to prevent further escalation, which is harmful to various countries in the region, including Iraq, and reflects negatively on the overall situation, especially the economic situation and energy supplies.”
During the meeting, the Prime Minister stressed “the importance of continuing international efforts, especially from the permanent members of the Security Council, to stop the aggression against Gaza, which contributed to the expansion of the conflict, and its effects were reflected in the security and stability of the region.”
For his part, Kutrashev stressed, “His country supports the stability and security of Iraq and the serious desire to invest in bilateral relations between the two countries towards more economic partnerships, in a way that achieves the interests and prosperity of the peoples of the two countries.”
He continued, “The meeting discussed ways to enhance cooperation in the field of energy and understandings within the framework of OPEC Plus, in addition to the contribution of major Russian companies to the Strategic Development Road Project, and the various projects it includes.”
