Jabro said to the “Under Two Lines” program, which is shown on Al-Iraqiya News and affiliated with the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “rain usually negatively affects the displaced,” pointing out that “ending the camps is a moral duty for the government as it is a government of achievements.”
She added, “The Ministry is committed to ending the displacement file and has the ability to end it within a month,” indicating that “the Ministry completely closed the Taza camp in Sulaymaniyah Governorate during the past days.”
She explained that “the government has taken decisions to encourage the voluntary return of displaced people to their areas, including increasing the return grant from one million to four million dinars,” noting that “the Prime Minister has the real will to end the displacement file.”
She stressed “the necessity of ending the displacement file before July 30, 2024,” stressing that “the Ministry will withdraw its support for the camps after next July 30.”
She noted that “some political parties benefit from the presence of displaced people in the camps, and there are families who do not want to return to their areas, despite the increase in the grant amount.”
She pointed out that “the Prime Minister directed the service effort to provide all services to Sinjar,” calling on “the local administration in Nineveh to choose a new mayor for Sinjar in order to provide services to the judiciary.”
