A statement by the Ministry of Interior received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) stated, “Minister of Interior Abdul Amir al-Shammari, during his field presence on Friday evening, to supervise the security operation in the Al-Bataween area in Baghdad.”
The minister indicated, according to the statement, that “there are directives from the Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces to provide the best services to citizens in the Bataween region,” stressing that “this security operation is continuing there with the deployment of rescue patrols and the rest of the ministry’s joints and formations to eliminate crime in its various forms.” “.
The Minister stressed that “the operation comes in conjunction with the service effort by the municipal departments to serve the people of the Al-Bataween area who have suffered greatly from the spread of crime,” noting that “this security operation will have positive results in providing a safe and appropriate atmosphere for all citizens in this area.”
