The media office of the President of the Republic stated, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “President of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid returned to the country on Saturday evening after concluding his visit to Algeria.”
The President participated in the seventh summit of heads of state and government of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum.
The President of the Republic delivered a speech at the summit conference, in which he referred to progress in gas exploitation, stressing that before the end of the year 2023 a gas project had been operated, and this year the Ministry of Oil is currently making great efforts to launch more than one gas project in multiple regions of Iraq.
He expressed Iraq’s position in support of the struggle of the Palestinian people, who are facing unjust aggression, and expressed his denunciation of the brutal attempts to annihilate them. He also stressed that the security and stability of the entire region will not be achieved without the Palestinian people obtaining all their rights.
On the sidelines of the summit, the President received his Iranian counterpart, Ibrahim Raisi, where they discussed relations between the two countries and ways to develop them, in addition to discussing the importance of holding the seventh summit of heads of state and government of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum and the serious contribution it constitutes to the stability of the energy sector and achieving a balance between energy security and reducing emissions. pollution, and support rationalization and environmental preservation.
