Baghdad/NinaToday, the National Intelligence Council held its fourth session of the current year, headed by National Security Advisor Qasim Al-Araji.
The Chancellery stated in a statement: “The session was held in the presence of the Governor of Nineveh, Abdul Qadir al-Dakhil, the Commander of the Ground Forces and Operations Commanders, the Commander of the Nineveh Police, and leaders and representatives of the intelligence services in the Iraqi intelligence community.”
The session witnessed listening to the report prepared by the Directorate of Military Intelligence to assess the situation on the ground in Nineveh Governorate, where the report concluded that there had been a significant decrease in the level of terrorist and criminal operations in the governorate.
The Military Intelligence Directorate report also praised the level of trust and cooperation between the people of Nineveh and the security services, and the high ability of the Iraqi security services to extend security.
During the session, the threats that may be caused by the presence of Al-Hawl camp were also discussed, and the necessity of closing it permanently after countries withdraw their nationals from the camp was emphasized./End 7
