The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed, on Tuesday, the reopening of the Swiss embassy in Baghdad after 33 years of closure.
The ministry stated in a statement received by Al-Rasheed that “this step comes within the framework of strengthening bilateral relations between Iraq and Switzerland, and reflects the desire of both sides to consolidate cooperation in various fields.”
She added, “The reopening of the Swiss embassy represents a positive sign in the course of diplomatic relations, and opens new horizons for fruitful cooperation between the two countries, in a way that serves the interests of the two friendly peoples.”
She explained that “the ministry looks forward to strengthening partnerships and developing bilateral dialogue with Switzerland, and is working to create the appropriate conditions for the success of joint efforts to push forward cooperation paths.”
