statement
The Ministry of Defense clarifies the following facts about one of the video clips that was promoted on some social media sites about the lies and slanders mentioned by the fugitive Colonel (Mohammed Faisal Hussein), which our Ministry has previously clarified the truth and motives for, as follows:
1. The aforementioned is currently a deserter from military service.
2- He was referred to the competent military court in accordance with the first paragraph of Legislative Resolution No. 160 of 1983 for impersonating the Director of the Minister’s Office, as well as in accordance with Article 245 of the Iraqi Penal Code No. 111 of 1969 as amended, for lying to those above him, and an arrest warrant was issued against him in accordance with the above legal articles.
3. He was previously convicted under the provisions of Article 243 of the above law for providing false information and misleading the judiciary, as well as under Article 261 of the same law for impersonating a position without an official capacity, according to the extract of Judgment 1954 on 12/22/2013 issued by a military court.
4. There is an investigation committee underway regarding his appearance on a satellite channel in violation of the instructions of the auditor and his promotion of lies and slander against the ministry. There is also an investigation committee regarding a complaint filed against him by some members of the Human Rights Directorate during his previous affiliation with it, related to his failure to adhere to the rules and ethics of service, and it will be referred to the competent courts.
5. The procedures for his trial in absentia by the competent military court are being completed.
6. The aforementioned allegations about the person of the head of the legal department are pure lies, as the above-mentioned department is the party concerned with taking action against him, and his resorting to these suspicious means is in the belief that they will prevent the application of the law against him and others like him.
7. Our Ministry reiterates the necessity for all websites and electronic pages to be accurate before promoting these lies, otherwise legal measures will be taken against them according to the law.
