A statement from the ministry, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), said, “Under the patronage and presence of the Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir al-Shammari, the preparatory meeting for regional security was held, in the presence of the two undersecretaries for police and intelligence affairs and a large number of leaders, advisors, and experts in the ministry.”
Al-Shammari confirmed – during the meeting – that “there are two types of exercises: the first is at a department level, and the other is at a leadership level,” directing, “to form a committee to prepare these exercises.”
Al-Shammari stressed “the importance of how the department director manages control and unity of command through the exercise.”
He also emphasized “the necessity of knowing the limits of the department of responsibility for each department director and his subordinates, including the local police, rescue, traffic, facility protection, and other joints, in order to develop strategic plans to maintain security and stability within its borders, and how leadership is centralized in the hands of the police department director.”
