A statement from the ministry, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that “Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, conducted an inspection tour of the Baghdad Al-Rusafa Police Command, and was briefed on the new security plans of the command within the sector of responsibility.”
Al-Shammari emphasized “strengthening street rescue patrols and mobile patrols at police stations, within the geographical area of the center,” stressing “the emphasis on preparing cadres working in the rapid response service.”
The statement continued, “The tour witnessed the laying of the foundation stone for the Criminal and Movements Directorate, the Administrative, Financial and Infrastructure Directorate in the Command and the Joint Operations Center, in addition to the opening of a number of departments and divisions therein.” The Minister also conducted an inspection tour of a number of centers on the Rusafa side, including the Karrada Police Department. Al-Alawiya Police Station and the Karrada Crime Control Office.”
