Baghdad/Nina/ Today, Monday, the Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, stressed the importance of strengthening security cooperation between Arab and friendly countries, especially in the field of combating terrorism, drugs, organized crime, and border security.
The Ministry of Interior stated in a statement: The work of the forty-first session of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers, held in Tunisia, began today, Monday, in the presence of the Secretary-General of the Council, Muhammad bin Ali Koman, and a number of Arab Interior Ministers, including the Iraqi Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir al-Shammari.
She added that Al-Shammari delivered a speech during this session, in which he conveyed the greetings and greetings of the Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, to the meeting participants, stressing that the Ministry of Interior in the Republic of Iraq is keen to participate effectively in Arab and international activities and conferences.
The Minister of Interior said, according to the statement, “Our Ministry hosted the first Baghdad International Conference on Combating Drugs in the presence of the Secretary-General of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers and the President of Naif Arab University for Security Sciences and with the participation of neighboring brotherly and friendly Arab countries.”
Al-Shammari continued, “The Ministry participated in a number of meetings to enhance security cooperation between Arab and friendly countries, especially in the field of combating terrorism, drugs, organized crime, and border security, and signed memorandums of understanding with a number of sister countries in this regard, and that the Iraqi Ministry of Interior seeks to expand these understandings and agreements in a way that serves “Common interests,” wishing “success for the work of this session to achieve the hopes of the honorable Arab people and to achieve security and stability.”/End 8
