Today, Tuesday, the Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, received the Secretary-General of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers, Muhammad bin Ali Koman, at the ministry’s headquarters. He was also received by the advanced staff of the ministry, while Al-Shammari praised the security cooperation with the Gulf countries and neighboring countries.
A statement from the ministry received by Al-Rasheed explained that “the two sides discussed several matters related to the security aspect in the Arab countries, where the minister praised security cooperation with the Gulf countries and neighboring countries in combating terrorism and drugs and exchanging information.”
He added, “The Secretary-General of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers confirmed that most crimes in the Arab world are mainly caused by drugs, and the work strategy in the field of combating this scourge must be changed and developed, especially after it has become a national demand for most Arab peoples.”
For his part, the minister stressed, according to the statement, that “the Ministry is working to dry up the sources of this scourge and follow up on its promoters and traffickers, in addition to treating and rehabilitating drug victims through forced asylums that the Ministry opened in most governorates.”
