The Minister of Health, Saleh Al-Hasnawi, set a date for the completion of Al-Aqila (peace be upon him) Hospital at the beginning of next year.

A statement from the Ministry of Health, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated, “The Minister of Health, Dr. Saleh Mahdi Al-Hasnawi, and his accompanying delegation conducted an inspection visit to the Al-Aqaila Hospital project with a capacity of 300 beds for women and children in Holy Karbala, accompanied by the Director General of the Holy Karbala Health Department, Dr. Sabah Al-Moussawi.”
Al-Hasnawi said, according to the statement, “His visit to the project comes within the priorities of the government program, to follow up on hospital projects under construction and expand health services.”
He added, “The Minister was briefed during a tour of the hospital’s departments on the stages of work and the rates of completion therein,” indicating that “45% of the work therein has been completed.”
He called for “harnessing efforts and the need to accelerate the pace of work in order to complete it on the scheduled date early next year, to constitute a new addition and a notable development in the level and quality of services provided to the citizens of the governorate and its esteemed visitors.”
It is noteworthy that the project was built on an area estimated at approximately 96 thousand square metres, and that “the hospital consists of 4 buildings, including the central building consisting of 7 floors, and includes an emergency lobby with a capacity of 26 beds, lobbies for recumbency and intensive care, and lobbies for premature infants, physical therapy, radiology, and medical centers.” And resonance surgery, in addition to an outpatient clinic. “The hospital includes 6 maternity rooms, 8 operating theaters, and a ward for premature infants with a capacity of 20 incubators and intensive care.”
