Today, Sunday, the Communications and Media Commission announced the inauguration of the “Shabaniyah” operations room in the holy city of Karbala and the use of new frequencies with the deployment of 45 technical teams on the ground.
The authority said in a statement, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “The Media and Communications Authority launched a central operations room to track mobile phone services during the “Shabaniyah” visit to the holy city of Karbala, where millions of visitors flock to commemorate the birth of Imam Mahdi (peace be upon him).”
The head of the authority, Ali Al-Moayyed, confirmed that “two frequency bands have been added within the range of the holy city of Karbala, which will enable mobile phone companies to accommodate the large crowd of visitors during the days of the visit.”
He added, “17 fixed stations and two mobile stations were deployed COWs In addition to 869 permanent cells,” he pointed out that “proactive maintenance operations included 350 towers, a rate of 45% of the total number of towers, while increasing the number of towers connected to the fiber optic network to 422 towers, a growth rate of 25%.”
He pointed out that “the human elements present on the ground were 11 teams specialized in development and installation, 24 teams specialized in emergency maintenance, and 10 technical teams working to conduct proactive checks on communication and Internet services via mobile phone networks.”
