The media office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “Al-Lajmawi received a number of Turkish businessmen to discuss ways to expand the economic partnership and cooperation in various fields.”
The ambassador stressed – according to the statement – the importance of “strengthening cooperation between the two countries, valuing the serious Turkish interaction with the development path project,” pointing out that “the policy followed by the government in developing economic relations, and the human and natural resources that Iraq possesses, qualifies it to be a point of communication.” “A development and partnership zone for all neighboring countries.”
Al-Lajmawi called for “holding meetings with businessmen to reflect the desire of the two countries to develop relations at various levels and the facilities provided by the Iraqi government to improve the business and investment environment in Iraq,” praising “Turkish companies and their ability to achieve development and their contributions to the reconstruction of infrastructure in Iraq and the completion of Development Road Project.
In turn, “Turkish businessmen expressed their gratitude for the meeting, and the Iraqi government’s keenness to cooperate with Turkish companies,” stressing their readiness to work in Iraq and create strategic partnerships with businessmen and the private sector, which has become a fertile environment for investment.
