Today, Thursday, the Ministry of Interior confirmed its intention to complete the handover of the security file, reaching 11 governorates during the current year, while revealing its plan to achieve this goal.

The official spokesman for the Ministry of Interior, Brigadier General Miqdad Miri, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “The Ministry of Interior worked on receiving the security file for the governorates seriously and was based on a broad evaluation process and re-institutionalization of all the ministry’s formations. It has succeeded in the past period in receiving the security file in 6 governorates, and during this year we will continue to take over the security file in the governorates, reaching 11 governorates.”
He added, “The Samarra operations command is now fully under the custody of the Ministry of Interior, and the next stage will be in Salah al-Din, the city center, Nineveh, and Anbar, where the important centers will be handed over to the Ministry of Interior, while the operations leadership will remain outside the city centers.”
He continued, “The Ministry’s readiness to receive the security file was completed to a very high degree as a result of government support, as there was a broad construction process that included all formations of the Ministry of Interior, starting from the Iraqi border and the Border Forces Command to the Intelligence Agency. Intelligence cells were also formed in every governorate in preparation for this task.” .
He continued, “The level of readiness of the police forces has risen to very high levels, and now they are ready to take over the security file in all regions of the country.”
