The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Naeem Al-Aboudi, confirmed today, Tuesday, that most university students have turned to employment in the private sector, while noting that the initiative to establish the Arab Higher Education Zone was greatly welcomed by the Union.
Al-Aboudi told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “The decision to host the meetings of the Union of Arab Leagues in Baghdad is important and strategic,” noting that “on the sidelines of the meetings, meetings and productions were held for Iraqi universities, whether governmental or private.”
He added, “The Arab attendees were briefed on the scientific results and research that carried the basic idea that employment should not only be in the governmental side, but that the private sector has a large share, according to the policy of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, which focused on employment in the private sector,” noting that “most universities have turned to employment in the private sector.” Its students are employed in the private sector.
He expressed his “thanks to the media for covering the meetings of the Association of Arab Leagues,” pointing out that “this success is not only attributed to the ministry but also to all Iraqis, as the Arab brothers witnessed the security stability of the country and the warmth of the Iraqi people.”
Regarding proposing an initiative to establish an Arab higher education zone, the Minister of Education stated, “Many commonalities link the Arab countries, and based on that, we presented a proposal to establish an Arab higher education zone concerned with the issue of education, scientific research, and the exchange of studies, as well as twinning between professors and universities,” noting that “ The Association of Arab Universities welcomed the idea of the initiative and will be studied in preparation for its launch.”
