UN Assistant Secretary-General Khaled Al-Khayari announced that the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip continues to deteriorate, calling for an immediate ceasefire.

Al-Khayari said during a session of the UN Security Council, “The humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip continues to deteriorate. I reiterate the Secretary-General’s call (Antonio Guterres) for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.”
He added that the risks of the conflict spreading in the region with potentially devastating consequences still exist, noting that the mutual bombing operations at the “Blue Line” in Lebanon represent a great danger to stability in the region.
