The Media Department of the House of Representatives stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “the House of Representatives will resume its session to elect the Speaker of the House,” indicating that “the number of attendees is 232 deputies.”
She added, “The House of Representatives votes to add an item to its agenda,” noting that “The House of Representatives decided to adjourn its session.”
On Saturday, the House of Representatives decided to resume its session after half an hour.
The Media Department of the House of Representatives said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “The House of Representatives decided to resume its session after half an hour.”
She added, “The number of signatories was 341, the number of voters was 341, and the number of ballot papers was 341.”
She noted that “the candidates for the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives are:
– Representative Salem Al-Issawi (97 votes)
– Representative Shaalan Al-Karim (152 votes)
– Representative Talal Al-Zubaie (one vote)
– Representative Amer Abdul Jabbar (6 votes)
– Representative Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani (48 votes)
