Holy Karbala – WAA
The Holy Abbasid Shrine revealed, today, Wednesday, the steps taken to reduce the effects of temperatures during the Tuwairij run.
The Secretary-General of the shrine, Mr. Mustafa Murtada Al-Dia Al-Din, said in a statement followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “the actions taken to serve the visitors to revive the ritual of the Tuwairij run included shading the streets leading to the shrines of Imam Hussein and his brother Abu Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon them), starting from the Qantara Al-Salam area towards the Bab Tuwairij area and Al-Jumhuriya Street, reaching the Al-Abbas’s shrine and its surroundings.”
He added that “the deception work included spreading Saran cloth, which would reduce temperatures, in addition to installing misting fans to humidify the atmosphere for visitors,” praising at the same time “the efforts of the staff of the al-Abbas’s (p) holy shrine for what they provide in order to serve visitors to the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) since the beginning of the month of Muharram.”
He stressed “the Holy Shrine’s support for the volunteer efforts that contributed to misleading the paths taken by visitors.”
All departments of the Al-Abbas’s Holy Shrine are mobilizing their efforts to serve the crowds of visitors coming from inside and outside Iraq to the holy city of Karbala to commemorate the days of the month of Muharram.
