Al-Khanjar said to the “Under Two Lines” program, which is shown on Al-Iraqiya News and affiliated with the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “There are attempts to divert the attention of the Islamic nation from the Palestinian issue,” indicating that “what happened on October 7 brought the Palestinian issue back to the forefront.”
He added, “Iraq’s official position on the Palestinian issue raised all our minds,” stressing that “the Sunni component does not need a deputy governor or mayor.”
He continued, “The families of the absent and forcibly disappeared must be compensated,” noting that “what is happening in the Sunni arena is a difference within the permissible ceiling.”
He pointed out that “the Sovereignty Alliance won 18 seats in the provincial council elections,” explaining: “We have negotiations with the Badr bloc about the local government in Diyala.”
He went on to say: “We demanded that the governor of Diyala be from the Sunni forces,” noting that “the country is moving in the right direction at the current stage.”
He stated that “the presence of the Sudanese at the head of the government creates stability,” stressing that “the Sudanese is the first prime minister who is satisfactory to him from all components.”
He continued: “We must stand strongly with the government and support it because it represents all of us,” noting that “the courage and honesty that characterize the Sudanese made us trust him a lot.”
He pointed out that “the Iraqi intelligence effort is distinguished and helps some neighboring countries,” stressing that “Sunni areas are most affected by terrorist groups.”
