Today, Wednesday, Nasser Al-Asadi, Advisor to the Prime Minister for Transport Affairs, announced a major campaign to develop airports during the coming period, stressing the existence of international cooperation to implement this step.
Al-Asadi told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “There is a large program to rehabilitate airports and develop new airports,” noting that “this sector has been absent from development for a long time.”
He added, “The government has developed an integrated program to rehabilitate airports, in addition to that there is cooperation with large organizations and the World Bank to develop a correct program to rehabilitate airports.”
He pointed out, “In the coming months, a major campaign will be launched to develop airports,” adding, “Our airports have become dilapidated, and they must be rehabilitated.”
