Baghdad/Nina/ The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Gamal Rashid, confirmed today, Saturday, that the government has developed a program that makes consolidating security and stability a priority.
A statement by the Presidency of the Republic said: “The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, received at Baghdad Palace a number of participants in the Sixth Baghdad Dialogue Conference, in the presence of the Director of the Iraqi Institute for Dialogue, Abbas Radi Al-Amiri.”
The President stressed during the meeting – according to the statement – that “Iraq is keen to consolidate the foundations of serious and constructive dialogue to confront challenges at the local and regional levels,” noting that “the political process in Iraq has adopted dialogue to reach common understandings regarding resolving issues and files, and Iraq has also played a role.” Regionally, in bringing viewpoints closer between the countries of the region.”
He added, “The rapid changes and events that the world is witnessing require establishing the values of dialogue and communication and creating partnerships that consolidate the principles of coexistence and enhance the chances of peace regionally and internationally.”
The President spoke about “the conditions that Iraq has experienced, including wars, sieges, violence, and terrorism, and their impact on services and infrastructure,” stressing that “the government has developed a program that makes it a priority to establish security and stability, improve the standard of living of citizens, support the private sector, encourage investment, and provide facilities to businessmen.”
The President pointed out “the importance of the role of dialogue and studies centers in the decision-making process and presenting options by analyzing current events and their potential repercussions and anticipating the future to help the decision-maker make the appropriate decision.”
The President of the Republic – according to the statement – appreciated the efforts made to hold the Sixth Baghdad Dialogue Conference, wishing the conference success in achieving its desired goals, noting that holding such conferences would enrich the visions, ideas and opinions that contribute to strengthening the foundations of stability and developing the economic situation. And improving the aspects that constitute a priority in the hierarchy of citizens’ needs.”
For his part, the members of the delegation appreciated “the President’s directives, interest, and keenness to attend the opening of the conference and deliver his speech, which received interest from the participants,” stressing that “the stability of Iraq and strengthening its role in the regional dialogue can contribute to achieving stability in the region.”/End 8
