The General Directorate of Water stressed the necessity of accelerating the completion of the Musayyib-Alexandria Water Project in Babil Governorate.

The directorate’s media stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “in implementation of the decision of the Council of Ministers and based on the duties of the General Directorate of Water to follow up on government program projects, the Director General of the General Directorate, Ammar Adel Al-Maliki, visited the Al-Musayyib – Alexandria Water Project in Babylon Governorate, accompanied by the technical staff in The Directorate and the Director of Water in Babylon Governorate, Aqeel Trad, where the visit witnessed an inspection of the stages of project implementation and identification of all obstacles, in order to overcome them and emphasize the speedy completion of all paragraphs according to the approved work progress schedule.”
He added, “A meeting was held at the project headquarters in the presence of the owners of the Resident Engineer Department and the specialized staff in order to resolve the issues of expropriation for the secondary stations in the project.”
It is noteworthy that the project was referred to the company according to the decision of the Council of Ministers after the work was withdrawn from the delaying company. It operates with a design capacity of 6,000 cubic meters per hour and was built on an area estimated at approximately 40 dunams. It serves the people of the Al-Musayyib district center, the Alexandria district, Al-Haswa district, and Jurf Al-Nasr, and it is one of the projects included within The government program adopted by the government.
