Today, Saturday, the French Ambassador to Baghdad, Patrick Durel, celebrated the delegation of our Olympic football team.
A statement by the Football Association received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) stated that “the French Ambassador to Baghdad, Patrick Durel, celebrated, today, Saturday, the delegation of our Olympic football team in the presence of the Chairman of the Olympic Committee, Dr. Aqeel Muftan, and the member of the Executive Office of the Iraqi Football Association, Ghanem Aribi, and the administrative director of the team, Abdul Jabbar Hashim, and the coaching staff of the team led by coach Radhi Shenaishil, and the players and the administrative staff.”
He added, “The French ambassador congratulated our Olympic football team on reaching the Olympic Games in Paris, which will start in the middle of this month, and welcomed the presence of the Olympic delegation at the French embassy in Baghdad,” stressing his “happiness that the players have reached the global forum.”
In his speech, according to the statement, the ambassador considered that “it is a great honor for this young generation to represent Iraqi football with the best Olympic teams in French stadiums, wishing the team success in achieving positive results.”
