Baghdad / Nina/ Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, met today, Thursday, with his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan, on the sidelines of the third Antalya Diplomatic Forum, which is being held in the Turkish city of Antalya.
A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that during the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations and ways to strengthen and develop them in all fields, in a way that achieves the interests of the two neighboring countries.
The two sides discussed the upcoming visit of the President of the Turkish Republic, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, to Iraq, and the minister’s participation in the meetings of the 161st session of the Council of the League of Arab States, scheduled to be held in Cairo next week, as well as the progress made in the development road project, which is of strategic importance to Iraq and the region.
For his part, the Turkish Foreign Minister stressed his country’s interest in ways to advance the course of bilateral relations in a way that serves the interests of the two neighboring countries and the region, expressing his thanks to Minister Fuad Hussein for his presence to participate in the forum, which is a platform for conveying the opinions and viewpoints of countries in the region regarding regional and international issues./End 9
