Baghdad/Nina/ Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fouad Hussein, discussed with his Palestinian counterpart, Riyad Al-Maliki, the tragic conditions that the Gaza Strip is going through and the recent attack on citizens in the Strip.
The ministry said in a statement: “Today, on the sidelines of the third Antalya Diplomatic Forum, the two sides discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations in a way that serves the interests of the two brotherly peoples and issues of common concern.”
The focus was on the tragic conditions that the Gaza Strip is going through and the recent attack on citizens in the Strip, which led to the martyrdom of dozens of Palestinians and the wounding of hundreds of them.
In part of his speech, the minister touched on the clear Iraqi position in supporting the Palestinian people, whether through popular and governmental aid or through permanent communication with many world capitals to increase pressure on the Netanyahu government to stop the war and massacres against the Palestinian people and deliver aid to the people of the Gaza Strip.
The financial situation of UNRWA, how to deal with the financial crisis that the agency is going through, and the policy of a number of Western countries towards the agency’s work in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank were also discussed.
For his part, the Palestinian Foreign Minister expressed his thanks and gratitude for the positions of the Iraqi government in support of the Palestinian people./End 7
