Today, Thursday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani held bilateral discussions with his Dutch counterpart, Mark Rutte, related to enhancing cooperation and partnership between the two countries, at the beginning of his official visit to the Netherlands, which he arrived this morning, in the presence of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Agriculture.
The discussions were followed by a luncheon in honor of the official visit of the Prime Minister, and an expanded meeting was held between the delegations of the two countries, which included discussion of more files and issues of common interest.
The discussions witnessed an agreement to form a comprehensive bilateral cooperation council between Iraq and the Netherlands, from which committees specialized in various fields will branch out, most notably the cooperation committee in the field of agriculture and its development, and water and irrigation technologies, in a way that meets the requirements of Iraq, which faces water scarcity, and in accordance with the measures the government has taken in this regard. In light of the extensive experience possessed by Dutch companies in this field.
During the discussions, Al-Sudani expressed his appreciation for the Dutch role in supporting Iraq within the international coalition during the war against ISIS, stressing the transition to bilateral relations to sustain cooperation and stability efforts.
