
The Drama starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson has crossed $100m at the worldwide box office, becoming A24’s fifth film to do so after Everything Everywhere All At Once, Civil War, Materialists, and Marty Supreme.
The romantic two-hander directed by Kristoffer Borgli reached the milestone on Tuesday (April 21) and as of the morning of April 22 stood at $101.3m worldwide, $60.2m internationally, and $41.1m in North America,
The film, budgeted at approximately $25m, has grossed $11.1m in the UK through Entertainment, $5.6m in France through Metropolitan, $5.4m in Italy through I Wonder and CIS through Volga, $4.2m in Mexico through Sun, $3.7m in Australia through VVS.
In other highlights, the story of a young couple who must confront an unsettling revelation on the eve of their wedding has grossed $3.7m in Germany through Leonine, $2.7m in Brazil via Sun, $2m in Poland through Vertical, and $1.9m in Netherlands through The Searchers.
A24 licensed territories in Cannes last year and reported a young film-going crowd in North America with more than 80% aged under 35. 2025 releases Materialists ($107m worldwide) and Marty Supreme (&180m worldwide) both drew similar demographics, with the under-35 bracket accounting for more than 70% of the audience in both cases.
A24 sources said its data showed that more than 80% of the audiences for The Drama said they turned out to cinemas because of Zendaya and Pattinson.
Internationally, the film delivered the highest UK box office for an A24 production (We Live In Time earned $11.8m and was an acquisition); the second-highest for an A24 production in France and Italy behind Marty Supreme’s $6.9m and $5.5m, respectively ((Parthenope and The Bling Ring were acquisitions in Italy); and all-time opening weekend marks for an A24 film in Turkey through TME, Mexico, and Poland.
Zendaya and Pattinson participated in marketing activations including a wedding chapel stunt in Las Vegas involving Zendaya; visits by both stars to the Musée des Arts Forains and the Eiffel Tower in Paris; and the Piazza del Campidoglio in Rome.
