The director of weather forecasts, Amer Al-Jabri, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “The rain wave that began today is expected to intensify next Sunday in all regions of the country.”
Al-Jabri added, “The recent rain wave that began last Monday had a clear impact on Iraq as a result of the merger of two depressions from the Red and Mediterranean Bahrain.”
He pointed out that “the current thundershowers across the country will increase in intensity at night in the northern region, with a drop in temperatures compared to yesterday, while the winds will be moderate southeasterly.”
He explained that “this week will witness changes and instability in the weather,” noting that “the forecast for tomorrow, Saturday, indicates that the weather will be fair to partly cloudy in the central and southern regions, with a chance of moderate rain and thunderstorms in the northern region.”
He pointed out that “next Sunday, there will be a chance of thundershowers starting from the western parts of the central and southern regions,” noting that “the Meteorological Authority updates the weather condition every 12 hours by reading the weather condition and updating the information.”
He noted that “the current month has weather fluctuations and a lack of stability in the weather,” pointing out that “expectations indicate that there will be heavy rains in a number of regions of the country, and in the event of torrential rains, a warning report will be published.”
He continued: “As for next Monday, the weather will be cloudy, especially in the eastern parts of the country, with heavy rain.”
