The Popular Mobilization Authority announced today, Wednesday, the arrest of a wanted fugitive from Badoush prison in 2014.
The authority said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “A force from the 27th Brigade Intelligence of the Popular Mobilization Forces was able to arrest a wanted man who had previously escaped from Badush prison, on Al-Karma Island, east of Anbar.”
She added, “This came after a joint security operation between the intelligence of the 27th Special Tasks Brigade of the Popular Mobilization Forces and a force from the 40th Brigade of the 10th Division of the Iraqi Army in the Jamila al-Marmi area in the Jazirat al-Karma district within the eastern Anbar operations sector.”
She pointed out that “legal measures were taken against the detainee who escaped from Badush prison in 2014 and he was handed over to the competent authorities in accordance with the law.”
