The Prime Minister’s Media Office stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “the Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammad Shia’ al-Sudani, conducted, after midnight last Wednesday, a visit to the headquarters of the Ministry of Interior in Baghdad, during which he held a meeting with a group of officers.” My command and the officials of the various formations and agencies, in the presence of the Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari.”
During the meeting, Al-Sudani stressed, “the importance of meeting the administrative and technical aspects of the intelligence and police agencies, and that security measures must be quick and effective in detecting crimes, and in a manner that is commensurate with the government support provided to the security services, and that there should be no loose ends for the criminal crimes committed.”
He also stressed that “murder crimes, whatever their background, must be met with immediate action to find the perpetrators and those responsible and bring them to justice.”
The Prime Minister pointed out that “an attack on any economic facility must be treated in the same way as terrorist acts are dealt with, and that the message must be clear that the security presence is effective and meets the requirements that ensure the smooth flow of development projects,” advising officers to be bold and bold in making decisions, stressing that His sovereignty is with them and supports them in the face of any security challenge or event that hinders the country’s economic and development renaissance.”
Al-Sudani reiterated, “the importance of maintaining the momentum of tracking down criminals and traffickers in drug crimes and those involved in their circulation and manufacture, especially with the devastating blows that have been achieved against traffickers, because they target society,” noting that “they must be pursued in cooperation and coordination with neighboring countries.”
