Najaf/Nina/ Judge Haider Hanoun, head of the Federal Integrity Commission from Najaf, announced the launch of a corruption detection competition to be a reason to end this phenomenon that Iraqi society suffers from.
This came during a press conference held by Judge Hanoun after a Ramadan evening held in Najaf to clarify and explain the annual report of the Federal Integrity Commission for the year 2023, in the presence of the Governor of Najaf, the President and members of the Provincial Council, and members of the House of Representatives.
Hanoun said in his clarification of the annual report, “The problem is not the presence of corrupt people in the state, but rather in addressing corruption and not punishing the corrupt,” adding, “The fight against corruption must be activated by activating the laws in force, away from formal procedures.”
He called on journalists and media professionals to participate in this competition through research or specialized studies.
He said, “We must work with the media to expose the corrupt, which is an important part of integrity work.”/End
