EXCLUSIVE: The Coven, sales agent of Terrifier 3, has secured worldwide sales rights to thriller Violence, starring Halloween Ends and The Monkey actor Rohan Campbell, Malignant and The Recruit actress Maddie Hasson and The Order star Sarah Grey.
Violence will play Brooklyn Horror Film Festival next week and will be on sale for The Coven ahead of this year’s AFM in Los Angeles. Genre vet Steven Schneider (Strange Darling) executive-produces.
The synopsis reads: “Henry Violence, an anti-hero in an alternate 1980s world, becomes entangled in a brutal drug war as rival cartels battle for supremacy, forcing him to make difficult choices to navigate the treacherous landscape.”
Connor Marsden directs. Grammy-nominated metalcore band Code Orange delivers both the film’s score and original music, while also cameoing in the film.
The production team includes Julian Geneen, William Woods, Albert Shin, and Maddy Falle as producers. International rights are available excluding Canada.
Campell is also known for starring in series The Hardy Boys and will soon be seen in the Silent Night, Deadly Night remake.
“Violence is a furious love story wrapped in the raw energy of punk rock and the chaos of a city burning to the ground,” said director Marsden. “We set out to create something visceral, cinematic, and utterly unforgettable—a film that hits like a sledgehammer to the chest.”
“We’re beyond thrilled to champion Violence,” added Anelle Dehghani, head of sales at The Coven. “This film combines bold artistic vision with Rohan’s magnetic leading performance and a blistering original soundtrack, and is precisely the kind of elevated horror and stylized genre cinema that ignited our fandom and will spread worldwide.”
