Iranian President-elect Masoud Pezeshkian stressed, during a phone call with the head of the political bureau of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, that Tehran will not leave the Palestinian people alone in these difficult circumstances.
The head of the political bureau of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, contacted Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, where they discussed political and field developments “related to the war of extermination waged by the occupation on the Gaza Strip and all developments related to the Palestinian issue.”
Ismail Haniyeh renewed his congratulations to Masoud Pezeshkian on his election as President of Iran in an election in which the Iranian people expressed their democratic and consultative values in the most beautiful way.
Haniyeh reviewed “the heinous massacres committed by the Israeli army targeting civilians, including the Khan Yunis and Al-Shati massacres yesterday, using false claims of targeting resistance leaders.”
Haniyeh pointed out that “these massacres came despite the positive position of Hamas and the resistance factions regarding the ceasefire negotiations. However, Netanyahu set new conditions in his recent statements that were not included in the texts of the proposals exchanged through the mediators, which confirms that Netanyahu wants the aggression to continue and escalate, not to reach an agreement.”
Ismail Haniyeh expressed his “appreciation for Iran’s positions on Palestine and the resistance and its support for the cause at various levels,” expressing his aspiration to exert more political and diplomatic efforts to push toward “achieving a halt to the aggression against the people.”
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian condemned “in the strongest terms the brutal attack launched by the occupation on the displaced persons’ gathering in the Mawasi area,” stressing that “this horrific crime indicates the entity’s desire to continue the genocide and break the will of resistance, and it will fail in that.”
Masoud Pezeshkian stressed that “Iran will not leave the Palestinian people alone in these difficult circumstances, and his government will place the Palestinian issue at the top of its priorities as it is the central issue of the Islamic world.”
“We are doing our best to work to stop the war and stop the genocide, and the long-term step required is to end the occupation, and for the Palestinian people to obtain their full rights,” Masoud Pezeshkian said.
Ismail Haniyeh has intensified his contacts with mediators and regional countries in recent days in order to work to “put an end to the massacres and Israeli aggression.”
